11/18 Long Beach, CA
11/21 La Quinta, CA (updated)
12/2 Thousand Oaks, CA
12/2 Chico, CA
12/9 Algonquin, IL
12/9 Newport News, VA12/9 Novato, CA(update: 2006)
There is a vacant building on Cooper Pt Rd in Olympia, WA. It's .25 from Capital Mall and across from Linen & Things, Old Navy, and near Pier 1. The building is a typical Trader Joe's stucco space that was recently occupied by Joann Fabrics. I'd really like to see Trader Joe's move in there. We have a great need for one here in our community and I would be interested in assisting or managing the store. This location would be ideal and it is also on the bus route which is a common mode of transportation in our area. Please advise.

The West Hartford store is open. I was there in the evening of Nov 4th. I had called another store and they indicated that the advertised opening will be Dec 9th.

I have been a customer of Trader Joe's since a young bride in CA in 1970. Was thrilled when it opened in Phx, many years ago. Now living in the Prescott, AZ area, WHERE IS OUR TRADER JOE'S?????? Prescott has a 70,000 metro area, with an exceptionally large # of retired CA people who paid cash for their homes. Everyone I talk to, misses the Trader Joe's store more than Big Lots. Please come to Prescott. We have 2 Wal Marts, but no Trader Joe's. We have a large expanding mall, an older mall by a Ross with a huge empty building. Please consider Prescott. I can't be the only person to write about this. I miss my baby artichokes, nuts, wine, and cheese. Jan Black

Having moved to the SoEast VA area 4 months ago from Los Angeles, I miss TJ's more than my family! I see that you are opening on 12/4 in Newport News, big cheer. Why can't I get more information from your East Coast office? I would very much like to get a part-time or maybe even full-time position there and the Corp Office says that they don't have an address, yet. And yet, Cost Plus World Market in Newport News not only knows the opening date but the location.

We live in Downtown Memphis, TN. The downtown area is experiencing an unprecedented urban revitalization. Warehouses are being converted to upscale loft condos, new condo towers are being built. Everyting is selling out before construction is even half completed. These are wealthy empty-nesters, and yuppie couples with no kids. These are people who would LOVE Trader Joe's. The housing has gone up so fast that NO grocery store has opened up anywhere in the area. We have to cross the Mississippi River to buy our groceries in Ark.!!!
We have more than enough people here eager to invest in a grocery store. If you can't open a TJ here could you sell us a francise?
We desperately want a TJ here and are willing to pay for it if that is what we have to do. The Center City Commission can also help with location. Also, new businesses in the downtown area qualify for a great local tax break ( a small new hotel just got taxes waived for 9 years).
Thanks so much,
Kent Pafford

I recently moved from Los Angeles to Champaign Illinois. I missed shopping at Trader Joe's more than anything...I was so happy to find several TJ's in the Chicago area...trust me when I say I'm happy to drive 3 hours to go to a TJ's, but I'd love to have one here in Champaign!!!! Please, please won't you open a location in my fair city and a university town to boot!!! I make caravan road trips with the friends and family I've introduced to TJ's the past two years we've lived here....BUT BRING TJ'S TO CHAMPAIGN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you waiting for a Minnesota/SLP location (and I'm one of them), it looks like it's been pushed to Phase III of the Excelsior/Grand development and slated to open in 2006. http://www.tolddevelopmentcompany.com/01_about/projlist.html

Is there ever a chance that Trader Joes could come to the midwest area? Kansas City, MO?

Please bring Trader Joe's to Dallas! I live in the Lakewood area of Dallas and there is a terrible grocery called Minyard's on Abrams/Gaston that you guys could buy and the shoppers in this area are affluent and concerned about their health and would love to have TJ's in our neighborhood. Are there franchising/investor opp's? You would do very well here in Big D! How about an online store while you think about it?

Trader Joe's would be very successful in Dallas. The Tom Thumb store on Cedar Springs in Oak Lawn just closed. If a Trader Joe's moved in, I would probably never shop at Kroger's across the street.

For those of you in Dallas, ever try Whole Foods? I think there are a few locations around the city. I shop at the one on Lemmon, and it's awesome, better than any Trader Joe's I've been to. I think there's another Whole Foods on Lower Greenville too.

PLEASE bring a Trader Joe's to Brentwood, California! This is a growing area that has recently gotten a Barnes & Noble as well as huge number of other stores. This would be an ideal location, and spare a lot of Brentwood residents the drive to Concord.

Please place a trader joes in St. Paul MN, considered the east metro, I am tired of traveling out west, Chicago, Michigan and Ohio to shop your stores.

I recently moved to the Tampa Bay area of Florida and am missing TJ's so much! Interestingly enough, I have come to realize that so many other people are missing you too as most are transplants from places that had a Trader Joes. We are amoung the many young couples that have made Florida home because of weather and the still affordable and BOOMING real estate market. In fact, my husband was recruited to this area because of the population explosion (he is an OB/GYN.) I know there may be issues with distribution but I believe it would be well worth the effort to consider Florida as a whole and definitely my area (Pinellas county is the most densely populated county in Florida!) as the new market frontier for Trader Joes. I miss you!

A word about the Long Beach (Los Altos area) Nov 18th opening--I went to the store today, and it's nowhere near being opened. The sign is up in front, but it looked to be empty inside from my car. I went to my usual one, in the Bixby Knolls area, instead.
The woman in front of us in line asked about the Los Altos store, and I heard the cashier saying something about the building not passing inspection, and there was no word about when it would open. I'm guessing at least a few weeks more before the store opens.

Spokane, WA pleeeease! You have very little competition and we neeeeeed your store here. (South Hill location would be great - but I'll drive if I must.)

My husband's company is relocating from Santa Clarita, CA to Rock Hill, SC, and we were all (employees families) stunned and disappointed to find out that the greater metropolitan Charlotte, NC area does not have a TJ. Do you have plans to open up a TJ in the southeast? The Charlotte area is the 2nd largest financial district in the nation behind New York. Where are you guys? Please advise.

Wish I had known about this site earlier. Coming from the San Fernando Valley in Calif. I am certainly familiar with your markets.
I have only one question. Why, OH WHY, do we not have one in Lacey, or Olympic, WA?? The closest one to me is approxamitely a 40 mile ride. I have to go to the one in Tacoma and certainly don't wish I had too.
Really think you are missing the boat on this one.
Have heard rumbles on a TJ coming some where, here, but so far nothing is happening.
I know we all hate seeing our beautiful green areas taken down, for more stores, etc., but I think a Trader Joe,s would be very welcome. Please give it some heavy thought.

How fortunate for Trader Joes that so many people want or are missing the opportunity to spend their money in these stores. In Davis,CA. a developer even used - as a ploy to get votes necessary to develop an area adjacent to the town limit - the promise of a Trader Joes! Unfortunately for the shopping opportunities, the town chose not to add unacceptable growth and crowding to an already over burdened school system and road system and voted against the development. However, there is another site, immediately off the freeway(US-80) at the main entrance to Davis -equidistant to all parts of Davis - that would be available for Trader Joe. An existing large building will be changing tenants soon. Davis would still like a Trader Joes - as long as it wasn't part of a developer's bribe.

I am on the kitsap penninsula(Silverdale) west of Seattle,Washington.
The closest Trader Joe's around is 35-40 miles away or a bit shorter if you want to take a ferry ride---- what I'm trying to say is we need a TJ's closer! We love shopping at TJ's but the distance is just crazy. We have lots of growth happening here and know that the news of your store openning would send much merryment through our community.Pleeeeease bring us this joy!!!
