Trader Joes would benefit as would the community in Bellingham if they took over the old Red Apple Market
space next to Papa Murphys:
2400 James St.
Bellingham, WA 98225
This was a former midsize grocery that would be a prime fit for TJ's. Hopefully one of the execs reads this!

I also moved from O.C. to Colorado and am DESPARATE! for Trader Joes to come here. We travel to Vegas a few times a year and always drive so we can fill the car with Trader Joe's but I still miss the fresh stuff. I would even be happpy if Trader Joe's sold online (hint). Someone in a T.J. state could make a living shopping for those of use that don't. PLEASSSSEEEE COME TO COLORADO! Robin

BELLINGHAM!!
JM is right. The old Red Apple on James street. TJ's would be so successful in the Hammer. Please, oh please come to Bellingham!

Putting a TJ's in the old Red Apple on James Street would accomplish two goals at a very minimum... 1. It would be an awesome business move for TJ... people want and need access to TJ's. Seems like there is a new TJ urban legend popping up every week about when they are finally coming... just a thought... don't know of any other business that has the same pull... 2. It would make the people of Bellingham extremely happy. Most of the Bellinghamsters that I hang out with frequent TJ's, but have to go way out of there way to do so which makes it very inconvienient for people who are already trying to be TJ patrons. Please come and do everyone a favor...

Please consider putting a Trader Joe's in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. It would do very well. There is nothing like it there and I travel to Seattle to get to a Trader Joe's.

TJ's would make a killing in Denver. If one would open near the new Stapleton development, such as in Northfield, it would make a fortune!!!

I got word directly from a TJ employee last week that TJ's is coming to Bellingham the end of the year.
Hope it is in the Red Apple on James!

Bring it on! Bellingham has waited long enough TJs will do great here in B'Ham
Posted by: Lupine | June 13, 2006 at 12:48 PM
The only thing I miss about living in the Seattle area is TJ's. I've been hearing the rumors and rumblings about them coming to B'ham for two years and FINALLY I hear that's it's not a rumor. Can I just say...HAPPY!! This town will eat up TJs! Personally, I think we could support TWO stores, but I'll settle for one. And yes, I hope it's taking over the old Red Apple on James. The space is suddenly being remodeled and I know that TJs had looked at the space a while back so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I called Trader Joe's in Everett a few minutes ago and was told that Trader Joe's will be coming to Bellingham and taking over the old Red Apple market at the end of the year.
BUT!!! I also called Corporate. THEY said that they do not have a signed lease on any property in Bellingham, so there is no store heading there as yet. Does Everett know something Corporate doesn't? Or is it wishful thinking on Everett's part? I gave them my (Blaine) ZIP code though, so at least they can track interest.

I live in Los Angeles, and am addicted to your store. I may be moving back to Nebraska in a few years or on to Colorado--I think it would be fab if you could open a few stores in both states. : )

I love in Spokane Washington, And we really dont have a trader joes here, but we have this place called huckleberries, and they are making huge cash! But they are pricing everything wayy to high. I've been to one of your stores before and you guys probably sell 1/3 of the price that they have. Well if you wanna make large quantities of money I would defenitly insist on coming to spokane washington.

TRADER JOES - VANCOUVER, BC & BELLINGHAM
I'm moving from Southern California to Vancouver, BC. IF they put a TJ's in Bellingham, isn't it going to be a problem taking a case of Charles Shaw $1.99 wine across the border? I am going to miss my Charles Shaw and all the other goodies from TJ. I hope they open in British Columbia. So many US companies can be found on both sides of the border. I wonder why TJ's doesn't move into Canada. Vancouver would be the logical first step.

From the Bellingham Business Journal Tip Line
Trader Joe's announced today that the company has officially signed a lease to occupy the former Bellingham Red Apple space, located at 2410 James St.
The store will open in 2007, hopefully within the first six months of the year, said the company's director of national publicity, Alison Mochizuki.
Rumors have abounded that the company would open a location in Bellingham for months. In July, the Bellingham Business Journal reported that owners of the building on James Street — the Clark family — had signed a letter of intent with a grocery store chain, but would not reveal which one.
Mochizuki said the company is excited about opening a location in Bellingham.

I would love to see Trader Joes move to Florida near Naples. I just moved from Annapolis, Maryland and miss that grocery store terribly. I actually live in Estero but would drive 30 miles to go to Trader Joes.

I moved to Bellingham from Orange County 14 years ago when there ere NO TJ's in the whole state of Washington. One eventually opened in Bellevue and later in Everitt. It is nice to be able to go to Trader Joe's a couple times a year but I used to go a couple times a month when I lived in California. I used o get 3/4 of my food at TJ's-including much frozen food.
Bellingham is not a big city but it is a sophisticated University town. Many friends of mine would love to see one here. The old Clark's Market would be perfect.
And then there are a couple million Canadians just over the border...!
I hope 2007 is the year TJ's at long last come to Bellingham!

As one of those couple million Canadians over the border who used to live in a Trader Joe's town I can honestly say WOOHOOO!!!! One thing we've *definitely* missed since moving to Vancouver is Trader Joe's. Every time I make a trip to the States I try to get in a TJs run, and knowing there's one in B'ham will make it that much easier. The border will make it difficult to get the two buck chuck (or any of the other wonderful and inexpensive wines there) but, hey, TJs is about so much more than cheap wine. I'm stoked.
